StoneMill Showcase Tour of Homes

Held: Fri, 10/26/2012 - 1 pm

Our first, annual Showcase Tour of Homes was a huge success with beautiful weather, satisfied customers and gorgeous StoneMill homes to see. Friday’s bus tour took our guests through 4 StoneMill Log & Timber Homes in the Knoxville area from beautiful water views on Watts Bar Lake to wooded, mountain views in South Knoxville. Our guests were able to see a finished log home and hybrid home, a log home in the trim out phase of the construction cycle, and a log home in the infant stages of shell erection construction.

Friday’s tour was capped off with a catered dinner at our headquarters and provided time for our guests to reflect on what they saw during the day’s event. Saturday; our guests came early for breakfast, coffee and an informal, information session to learn more about design, planning and turnkey construction to help better prepare for their log & timber home project.

Stay tuned as we plan our next Showcase Tour of Homes around Spring of 2013. We certainly hope you will join us!

Sales representative, Chris Giraldi, explains timber porch construction to our captive audience.

One of our guests studies the plan layout originally drawn by our in-house design team as on-lookers patiently await their turn.

Guests arrive to our hybrid home on the tour with timber frame truss construction creating the focal point of the entry of the home.

Timber roof construction and antique barn wood rails make any room more inviting and cozy.

Beautiful weather and breathtaking lake views make sitting on an outdoor timber porch more enjoyable.

Sales representative, Jim Slaughter, explains log shell construction to a couple of our interested guests.

StoneMill President, Rob Cantrell, and VP of Sales & Marketing, Mathew Sterchi, discuss finish details with our guests during the last stop of our tour.

Vaulted ceilings and expansive walls of glass make any mountain view come to life!

The thing about log homes is either you like them or you don’t. Those who do probably think what you like about them is the wood. Well, you’re wrong. Log homes are about how the wood is used.
